Charlie & the Chocolate Factory

Columbus Indiana Philharmonic (CIP) and Mill Race Theatre Company (MRTC) are collaborating on a  summer musical, Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. This partnership brings together two of Columbus’s most treasured arts organizations—MRTC, Columbus’s oldest community theatre, and CIP, the city’s professional orchestra—uniting theatre and live music in a way our community has never experienced before.

Synopsis

Based on the famous novel by Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory features an original score that also pays homage to the 1971 film with songs from the motion picture including:

  • Pure Imagination
    …and more!

The world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factory…but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator, all to be revealed by Wonka’s army of curious Oompa-Loompas.

Venue Parking

Free, convenient parking is available just steps from the venue, including accessible parking.

East Bus Lot: along Marr Road with easiest access to the auditorium entrance

South Lot: along State Street (most availability, but it’s a bit of a walk!)

North Lot: along Indiana Avenue (half of this lot is reserved for musicians)
