Neil Jones and Lisa Beutler-Jones have a long and endearing history with Columbus and the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic. Neil graduated from Columbus North High School and attended Indiana’s Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, where he met his future wife. After they had begun their performing careers, they returned to Columbus to become husband and wife, marrying at First Christian Church in downtown Columbus.
Their journeys have taken them around the world, entertaining audiences aboard Royal Viking’s fleet of cruise ships, as well as appearing with numerous orchestras and opera companies. Neil has performed with Maestro Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, The Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, the Chicago Symphony at The Ravinia Music Festival, and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. He can also be heard as a soloist on Telarc’s recordings of The Music Man and The Sound of Music.
Lisa has been a soprano soloist and featured dancer in Broadway Follies and has made numerous appearances with Maestro David Bowden. They both are members of the vocal jazz quartet, Classic Edition, appearing in benefit performances for The Evansville Museum of Arts and Sciences, The Reitz Home, and The AIDS Resource Group, just to name a few.
Neil and Lisa reside in Newburgh, Indiana with their four children (one of whom was born n Columbus). Neil received his Master’s degree in Education from the University of Southern Indiana and is a tenured teacher at Cairo Elementary in Henderson, Kentucky. Lisa is beginning her eleventh year as an adjunct instructor in communications at the University of Southern Indiana.
