Tasha Warren
Tasha Warren, currently on the faculty at Louisiana State University, is an avid performer of contemporary music. She was named winner of Indiana University’s 2006 Woodwind Concerto Competition with her performance of Aaron Copland’s Clarinet Concerto and in March 2007 premiered Yoomi Paick’s Black Lines, for solo clarinet and string orchestra. Warren has performed extensively with the I.U. New Music Ensemble, Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, Midwest Contemporary Consort, various chamber ensembles, and festivals. She has recorded with Innova, Alba, and SCI Records, as well as with the I.U. New Music Ensemble, Hal Leonard Productions and CBC Radio. Her recording of David Dzubay’s Clarinet Concerto “American Midlife” with the Slovak Radio Orchestra was released in April of 2005, and she is currently working toward the release of her 2008 CD of unaccompanied clarinet repertoire composed in the US in since 1950.
Ms. Warren is currently a candidate for a Doctoral degree in Music Performance at Indiana University where she earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Clarinet Performance. She has studied with James Campbell, Eli Eban, Robert Listokin, Wesley Foster, Alfred Prinz and Howard Klug.
Ms. Warren has been principal clarinet with the Philharmonic since 2004.
